A new windshield, developed by GM and researchers at Carnegie Mellon and the University of Southern California, uses ultraviolet lasers to “see” roads and street signs through fog. The windshield has phosphors that can light up and display the contours of the road.

GE, Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Southern California are developing a windshield that will outline roads and read street signs during heavy fog.
