  • Senate, GSA ratify 2014–15 JFC budget

    Student Senate and the Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) held a joint meeting on Thursday to hear second-round budget appeals and ratify the slate for total Joint Funding Committee (JFC) allocations for the 2014–15 fiscal year. Both bodies voted to approve a total $29,467 increase in JFC allocations — an approximate 1.95 percent increase to the original $1.51 million in allocations.

  • Carnegie Mellon MFA candidates showcase work in Lossless

    Miller Gallery opened its doors last Friday evening to viewers wanting a first glimpse of the 2014 MFA thesis exhibition, Lossless. This year’s collection featured the work of three master’s of fine arts students — Carl Bajandas, Oreen Cohen, and Yun Mi Her — and spanned a wide spectrum of moods, media, and subjects.

  • CMU professor blends musical cultures

    The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO)’s performance of Gustav Holst’s The Planets was definitely the most heavily advertised event last weekend at Heinz Hall.
